App Store Icon Gone Missing? 5 Ways to Get It Back

If you have deleted the App Store on your iPhone by mistake, you can get it back. The App Store is not a third party app, so it can’t be deleted like that. However, if you have restricted access to the App Store or have changed the location setting of your device, you might not be able to find the App Store easily. If you need help getting it back onto your iPhone, then follow our step-by-step guide below.

Look for the App Store Icon on Your Phone.

If your App Store icon is gone, it’s possible that you accidentally deleted it. The very first and easiest way to get back the App Store icon is to through your home screens.

Find it in the folders.

You have created several folders to group similar apps together, such as: working apps, games, photo editing apps, and so on. Chances are you accidentally group your App Store in a certain group. If that’s the case, then you can just go through the folders to find and take it out.

Use search tools.

If you still can’t find the App Store icon on your iPhone or iPad, you can use search to find it:

  • The first is a Spotlight Search; swipe down from anywhere on your home screen to reveal it and type in “App Store.”
  • The second is called Siri Suggestions and will appear when you swipe right; tap on the icon to access it, then look through the suggestions until you find the App Store and tap on it to open it up.

Disable Restriction from App Store.

Restrictions is a new feature in iOS and it allows you to block access to certain functions of your iPhone. If you have restrictions enabled, you will also not be able to access the App Store on your iPhone. The good news is that it’s very easy to disable Restrictions and get the App Store back by these simple steps:

  • Step 1: Go to Settings and find Screen Time for iOS 12 or later versions. For the iOS 11 and earlier versions, just tap on General > Restrictions.
  • Step 2: tap Screen Time and choose Content & Privacy Restrictions. Enter passcode if you’ve set the password for the restrictions, and toggle off the Restrictions option.
  • Step 3: Under iTunes & App Store Purchases, choose Allow for all the options.

Reset Home Screen.

If you can not remember the passcode for disabling the Restrictions or can not find the App Store icon in any folder, then you can simply go to your device settings and reset the home screen layout with these steps:

  • Step 1: Go to the Settings and scroll down to General.
  • Step 2: Under General, tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  • Step 3: Tap on Reset at the end of the page, there will be a list of options for you to reset your phone. Choose Reset Home Screen Layout. This will place all of your apps back in their original locations and restore the App Store to your iPhone.

Reset All Settings.

After trying these steps, if you still can’t find the App Store on your iPhone, this could be a bug or glitch which can be fixed with a hard reset. This won’t save any of your data, but if you don’t want to reset all the settings on your iPhone or if you’ve missed a hidden setting that makes the App Store disappear, this is the next best thing.

It’s important to remember that once you perform a hard reset all of your data will be lost and not recoverable so make sure to back up any data you want to keep before proceeding with the similar steps to reset the Home Screen!

  • Step 1: Go to the Settings and scroll down to General.
  • Step 2: Under General, tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  • Step 3: Tap on Reset at the end of the page, there will be a list of options for you to reset your phone. Choose Reset All Settings

#5. Update the Latest iOS Version

If you’ve used the steps indicated above but still can’t see the App Store, please update to the most recent version of iOS/iPadOS. You can update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly by:

  • Step 1: Open the Settings app from the home screen.
  • Step 2: Tap General
  • Step 3: Choose the last option on this page, Software Update
