How to check if someone unfriended or blocked you on Snapchat

Are you looking for an easy way to check whether someone have unfriended or blocked you on Snapchat? You may assume your social media circle’s activity are invisible to everyone, but luckily, there are ways to know exactly who unfriended/blocked you on Snapchat.

In this article, we’re going to show you step by step instructions on how to be really sure that a specific user has blocked or unfriended you on Snapchat.

The message status method

Snapchat doesn’t allow you to directly send messages (snaps) to someone you haven’t connected before. This means that you can send a message to somebody who doesn’t follow you but it will be counted as pending until they add/follow you back.

As a result, if someone has unfriended or blocked you, snaps you sent will remain pending until they add or follow you back.

The simplest way to know if someone blocked or unfriended you on Snapchat is sending them a message. If he or she did so, you’ll see the “Pending” status with a little notice that looks something like the image below.

Step by step instructions :

  • Launch Snapchat. Swipe right or tap the chat button.
  • Create a new snap/message by tapping the name of the other user.
  • Send a random text. If you see “Your snaps and chats are pending until [username] adds you as a friend” message, then you’ve been unfriended.

The snap score method

Snap Score, or snapchat score, is the numerical measure of how active you are on the platform. Higher scores means higher Snapchat usage. The metric is purely cosmetic, you can’t actually use your Snap Score to do anything.

Snapchat only allows friends to see each other Snap Score. A clever way to check whether a friend is no longer a friend of yours is trying to see his or her Snap Score.

Check the snap score for friend status

Step by step instructions :

  • Launch Snapchat and search for your friend.
  • Open his or her profile.
  • Look below his or her username. If you don’t see a snap score (which looks like the image above), then you’ve either been blocked or removed as a friend.

The friend list method

On Snapchat, if you’ve either been blocked or removed as a friend by someone, that person would not appear in your friend list.

In order to check your friend list, follow the instructions below:

  • Launch Snapchat, tap your avatar to go to your profile page.
  • Tap My Friends under Friends section.
  • Search for the other user. If they don’t show up in the friend list, it means you’ve been unfriended or blocked.

The story method

This method isn’t really effective, which means you should only resort to this method if all the above ones doesn’t work. But once it does, you can even approximate when they’ve unfriended/blocked you.

The idea is simple, all you have to do is post a story and wait 24 hours for it to be expired. After that, check the list of who viewed your story. If the user you’re checking is not in the viewers list, you have been unfriended/blocked and vice versa.

Step by step instructions :

  • Launch Snapchat, tap your avatar to go to your profile page.
  • Tap on My Story. Preview your latest story, the number of views appears in the bottom left corner of the display.
  • During the preview, swipe up to see who have watched your story. Look for the name of the user you’re checking.

How to unfriend someone on Snapchat?

If you want to remove a friend on Snapchat, you can do that on Snapchat by accessing your friend list and deleting them from there. Follow the instructions below to do that:

  • Launch Snapchat app and tap on your avatar at the top left corner.
  • Tap My Friends under Friends section.
  • Search for the person you want to remove and tap his/her name.
  • Once the Snapchat profile page has fully loaded, tap on the 3-dots icon at the top right corner.
  • Select Manage Friendship, then Remove Friend.
